Template notice
These are working templates for a Canadian community event, not legal advice. Before the first registration is taken, they get reviewed by local counsel and the event's insurer, and the reviewed versions replace this page.
Refund policy
Team registration: full refund until registration closes July 31, 2027; after that, fees convert to a donation to the prize pool unless the event itself cancels the day, in which case teams choose a full refund or a locked 2028 spot. Merch pre-orders: refundable until orders lock on July 24, 2027.
Event waiver & liability release
All players sign a participation waiver during registration covering the ordinary risks of an outdoor lawn-sport event. Volunteers sign a matching volunteer waiver. Nobody plays or works the lanes without one on file.
Photo & video release
The Classic photographs and films the day for the website, the archive, and next year's promotion. Registration includes a release; anyone can opt out of identifiable use by writing to the committee, and we will honour it in published galleries.
Privacy
We collect what the event needs to run (names, contact details, shirt sizes, orders) and use it for the event only. No sale, no sharing beyond service providers (payments, email), deletion on request.
Code of conduct
The Ruby Rule, in legal-adjacent form: competitive chirping yes, disrespect no. Officials' decisions stand. One warning, then removal from the grounds without refund.
Weather & cancellation
The event plays through light weather, pauses for lightning, and compresses the format when the day demands it. A full cancellation triggers the refund policy above.
